Dr. Napierkowski was born in Boulder and grew up in Colorado Springs from
early childhood. He was one of two United States Presidential Scholars
representing Colorado in 1986. After graduating from Air Academy High
School, he attended the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his Bachelor
of Science degree, majoring in Biology with a second major in Theology and
graduating with honors. He graduated as a Medical Doctor from the University of
Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1994 before completing his residency in
General Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1999.
Returning to the mountain west, Dr. Napierkowski spent 4 years in Albuquerque , New Mexico , fulfilling his commitment to the United States Air Force, which funded his scholarship through medical school. During his service, he was deployed to remote locations in Pakistan and Qatar while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 2001.
Meeting both personal and professional goals, Dr. Napierkowski returned to Colorado in 2003. His practice includes all fields of general surgery, but he has special interest in gastrointestinal diseases. He strives to meet the emotional needs of patients struggling with all manner of simple and complex disease processes, providing them with the insight necessary to make informed decisions regarding their own health care.
Dr. Napierkowski married his wife, Angela, in 1992 and together they enjoy the happy chaos of raising their five loving children. His personal interests include drawing, painting and reading. He runs regularly, and completed his first marathon in January 2005. Having graduated from Notre Dame, Dr. Napierkowski is an avid college football fan and believes that there is no off-season for discussing such important matters. His other sports teams include the Chicago Cubs, but he asks that it not be rubbed in.
